Dear Brilla Families, Friends, and Staff,
As we begin a new year, I find myself reflecting on what truly defines Brilla. Across our eight schools, our network office, and the many partners who support this work, our strength is clear. It lies in our people and in the way we show up for one another with care, purpose, and joy. This includes the dedicated front-facing staff who greet our students and families each day, as well as the behind-the-scenes teams whose work makes our schools run smoothly and successfully.
This past fall, that spirit was evident during Homecoming Week, a meaningful tradition that celebrates belonging, school pride, and community for our students in the Bronx. Homecoming is a reflection of who we are together as One Brilla, united in mission and grounded in dignity and joy. Moments like these strengthen our shared culture and remind our students that they are part of something enduring and deeply supportive.
That same commitment to community extends beyond our classrooms. Last year marked Brilla’s 13th Annual Thanksgiving Drive, a tradition that brings our network together in service and gratitude. What began as a small effort has grown into a collective commitment across eight schools to ensure families have food on the table and are supported with dignity. In a time when many families face added challenges, this work matters more than ever. Thirteen years, eight schools, one Brilliant Bronx. Throughout the season, gratitude lived across our schools and teams. Scholars, families, and staff engaged in acts of service, reflection, and appreciation that reinforced what makes Brilla special. These moments, whether in classrooms or at our Network Office, remind us that our schools are places of belonging, connection, and shared responsibility.
At Brilla, we also believe deeply in celebrating student growth. We honor academic progress, strong attendance, and character development, and we invite families into this journey through conferences that highlight growth and goal setting. These celebrations send a powerful message to our students. We see you, we believe in you, and we are proud of who you are becoming.
Underlying all of this work is a strong culture of feedback. When people feel heard and see their insights reflected in action, trust grows and teams thrive. Our ability to serve students well depends on our willingness to listen, learn, and grow together.
I am deeply grateful for our educators, staff, families, community partners, board members, and supporters. Your belief in our scholars and in this mission fuels the brighter futures we work to build every day. Together, we are Brilla, united in purpose and grounded in joy.
